What is OzoMD and who is it for?+
A two-step, physician-formulated recovery routine for dry, stressed, and reactive-looking skin — for people whose skin feels tight, red, or irritated after retinol, acids, exfoliants, or treatments like facials and peels.
Will an ozone oil sting my already-irritated skin?+
No. It’s built for compromised skin — fragrance-free, essential-oil-free, and non-comedogenic. The Recovery Oil is designed to comfort reactive-looking skin, so there’s nothing in it meant to tingle or “work.”
How does ozonated oil support the skin barrier?+
Medical-grade ozone is bonded into cold-pressed oils to form stable ozonides that release oxygen gradually to comfort skin and support a healthy-looking barrier, while the cream seals in lipids and water. More in the science of O₃.
How fast will I see a difference?+
Many people notice skin looking and feeling calmer within about two weeks of twice-daily use, with continued comfort over the weeks that follow. Skincare results vary from person to person.
Can I use it after a facial, peel, laser, or microneedling?+
Yes — it’s one of the most popular uses. Once your provider clears moisturizer, use the cream by day and add the oil at night. Always follow your provider’s aftercare first.
Do I have to stop using retinol or acids?+
Not necessarily. Many people calm their skin with OzoMD first, then reintroduce actives slowly — for example, retinol two nights a week — using OzoMD on the off nights. See ozonated oil & retinol.
Is it suitable for sensitive, easily-flushed skin?+
It’s fragrance-free and formulated to minimize common triggers, and it’s a favorite of people with easily-flushed, redness-prone skin. Patch test first, and check with your dermatologist if you have a diagnosed condition.
Will the oil break me out?+
The Recovery Oil is non-comedogenic. If you’re acne-prone, start with the cream and add the oil a few nights a week.
